Craft Story

Our Craft Story

At Arterui, every piece begins with a human touch.

We work closely with experienced artisans — many with decades of dedication to traditional crafts such as embroidery and ceramics. Some began their journey in childhood, carrying forward techniques that have been refined over generations.

In a world of fast production, these skills are becoming increasingly rare.

Each stitch, each brushstroke, each firing process is done slowly and intentionally — not just to create an object, but to preserve a story.

Not Just Decoration

Our pieces are not made to fill space.

They are made to bring calm, meaning, and cultural depth into modern living.

A Quiet Kind of Luxury

We believe true luxury is not loud.

It is found in:

• Time spent by hand
• Imperfection that reveals authenticity
• Craft that cannot be rushed

From Artisan to You

When you receive an Arterui piece, you are not just buying a product —

you are becoming part of a story that continues beyond the maker.

Our Story

Timmy and I once visited a group of embroiderers with an average age of around 60. Some of them had held a needle since the age of 12, persisting for a full 50 years; some had worked in traditional Shu embroidery factories and continued their work even after retirement; others had pursued their craft from a youthful hobby to this day. They were friends with each other, and more importantly, guardians of this art. For them, embroidery was not just a job, but a lifelong passion and a belief.

In their hands, the creation of a piece requires the passage of time. Every stitch, every thread, is an accumulation of patience and experience, a warmth that machines cannot replicate.

Our initial intention is simple—to let genuine Shu embroidery be understood and cherished. We do not pursue short-term profits, but hope to bring these works, which embody the life's work of artisans, to those who are willing to appreciate them. Because a true handmade Shu embroidery is not just an ornament; it is a work of art that can be collected and passed down through generations.

The value of Shu embroidery, like that of a classic work of art, does not depreciate with time, but rather continues to rise due to its rarity and historical significance. It can accompany one generation and be passed down to the next, becoming part of a family's memories.

What we do is simply take these authentic and precious works from the hands of embroiderers to the other side of the world. Not to turn them into commodities, but to hope they are seen, understood, and continued to be passed down.

Bamboo Woven Objects – Thousands of Threads, Entirely Handwoven

Bamboo woven objects are more than just "handicrafts"; they are an expression of a contemporary lifestyle:

Natural and Sustainable: Pure bamboo, no chemical processing, renewable, returning to the essence of nature

Unique Existence: Handwoven, no two pieces are exactly alike

Cross-Cultural Aesthetic Language: Minimalist and natural style, exuding sophistication in the home or office

A Meaningful Gift: It carries more than just the object itself; it embodies two thousand years of culture and time.

We collaborate directly with inheritors of Sichuan Province's intangible cultural heritage,

bringing these works from the hands of artisans to the world.

A Choice About Time: Machines can produce thousands of identical products in a single day.

But an artisan may need a month to complete just one unique piece.

This is not a difference in efficiency,

but a difference in value.

A tangible piece of history

An object belonging to contemporary life
